Michael Fleiner & Septeto Internacional

In my opinion, one of the best features that define this band is the capacity to create and explore different rhythms and musical concepts.

“ when composing I am always looking for new ideas to enrich and develop Latin Jazz and Afro-Caribbean music. My inspirations come from Jazz, traditional and modern Latin music, classical and contemporary music, and even from mathematics and physics!” (Michael Fleiner)

Septeto International is formed by very experimented and professional musicians from Cuba, Brazil, Switzerland, and Spain.

The Septeto Internacional director, Michael Fleiner, studied classical music for 4 years in Bogotá, Colombia. He obtained his diploma in Jazz Piano at the Swiss Jazz School in Bern In 2000. Michael is a piano and ensemble workshop teacher at the Jazz School of Lausanne, also at the Jazz School Lugano and Bellinzona.

With my family, we had the opportunity to see a Septeto Internacional live performance in Ajazzgo festival (Cali, Colombia 2015) , and it was stunning.
